SUBMISSION GUIDE

General guidelines for the submission of abstracts

ICFAS 2025 invites the submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations in scientific sessions and student competitions. This call is open to all individuals whose work is grounded in fisheries and aquatic sciences, including those exploring intersections with food science, policy, technology, and the arts. Submissions should align with the conference theme, highlighting innovative work that contributes to food safety, food security, and the sustainable development of aquatic resources. Abstracts may be presented in regular concurrent sessions (oral or poster) or entered into the student oral or poster presentation competitions.

Language and Format

All abstracts must be written in English. Please use the official Abstract Template for formatting and submission guidelines. Abstracts should be submitted through the online submission system.
 

Submission Deadline and Review

The deadline for abstract submission is July 30, 2025. The Scientific Committee will review submissions based on their quality and relevance to the conference theme. Notification of acceptance will be sent to the corresponding authors by August 29, 2025, along with presentation guidelines and further instructions.
 

Registration Requirement

Presenting authors must confirm their participation and complete their registration by October 03, 2025. Failure to register by this date will result in the cancellation of the presentation slot.
 

Publication Opportunities

Only accepted abstracts with confirmed presenting author registration will be included in the Book of Abstracts. Authors of these presentations are encouraged to submit a full manuscript for possible publication in the Philippine Journal of Natural Sciences and the Philippine Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.
 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT PREPARATION

Please make sure your abstract follows these formatting requirements before submission. Abstracts that do not comply may be returned for revision or may not be considered.

Each submitted abstract must include the following information:

Title

Authors

Affiliations

Presenting Author

Email address

Abstract body

Keywords

Session Theme

Presentation Preference

Maximum of 25 words, written in bold capital letters using 14-point Times New Roman font. Scientific names should be italicized.
 

Full names in 12-point Times New Roman font.
 

Institutional affiliations in 10-point Times New Roman font.
 

Indicate by using bold text.
 

Provide the email address of the corresponding or presenting author.
 

Maximum of 300 words, formatted using the provided template. Use 12-point Times New Roman, with 1.15 line spacing. Paragraphs should be separated by a blank line and not indented.
 

Include 3 to 5 keywords that best describe your work.
 

Indicate which session theme your abstract aligns with.
 

Specify your preferred presentation type — oral or poster.

Language and Formatting Requirements

Abstracts must be written in English, the official language of the forum. The abstract should fit on one page, using standard A4 size paper in portrait orientation. Set 1-inch margins on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right). Please follow the formatting instructions provided in the abstract template found on the last page of this document.

File Format and Naming Convention

The abstract should be saved and submitted in MS Word format. The filename should be in this
format:

Session theme keyword_surname of corresponding author_first three words
of abstract title
